Trauma

Lucy is experienced and specialized in working with all types of trauma. This includes Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) related to a significant traumatic event(s), Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (cPTSD) and Attachment Trauma related to early life. You do not have to have a diagnosis to come for trauma treatment.

Lucy has worked with many Canadian Armed Forces military members & their families, veterans & their families through Veterans Affairs Canada as well as first responders. Lucy has worked with highly traumatized youth through various child protection services agencies across Ontario. While all of these populations are known to have experienced a great deal of trauma, trauma is a part of most of our lives at one time or another. In addition to professional experience and knowledge, Lucy has a great deal of personal experience with trauma and its effects adding to her ability to hear you, see you and support you.

Trauma treatment must include attention and knowledge of the nervous system, neurophysiology, thoughts/cognitions, the emotional, the spiritual, and understanding your own triggers for trauma reactions within the body. Awareness of the body’s reactions to trauma and its triggers is examined, grounding a breathing techniques mastered and traumatic events are processed and can heal. Healing is real, truly.
