Adolescence is a period of change and challenge. Many teens feel alone and experience a high level of anxiety and distress in their everyday lives. Talking to a person who is a professional (and who doesn’t know you or your family) can make you feel comfortable and like you’ve been listened to (without being judged). Whether mental health concerns exist or not, often, it is an important time for teens to reach out to receive support with what they are going through.
The same is true for families or parents. Becoming connected with a professional through these tough times can be a great way to ensure the health of a family, a parent or an individual to move forward with success.
Young people have a lot to deal with day to day and many struggle with a variety of mental health challenges in adolescence. Some of these include anxiety, depression, self-harm, social problems including bullying, cyber-bullying/Facebook, anger issues, divorce, trauma, and grief.
If you are a teenager and you are reading this chances are good that you need some support to help you with what you are going through.

For Parents
If you are a parent with a teenager you may find yourself struggling daily. You may benefit from having support with parenting strategies and interventions through crises, managing conflict and maintaining relationships. This can be a very hard time in families.
Learning to communicate effectively with your teenager – and working to understand where they are coming from – can be one of the most important things you can do for your child.
E-Counselling and Agencies
Contracting online counselling services for the youth involved in the care of your agency is a unique and effective method for reaching out to young people who are struggling within your organization.
E-counselling is an opportunity to offer an alternative form of therapy reaching clients that otherwise would not agree to standard therapeutic modalities. The development of a successful therapeutic connection via e-counselling can serve as a stepping stone for future relationship building for youth; clinical and personal.
E-counselling can support youth who find themselves feeling alone without the skills to develop and maintain meaningful relationships/placements or who are unable to take steps to transition back home with parents. It would also be very useful as a pre-emptive method in supporting youth to remain in their family homes avoiding the need for admission within your agency.
The accessible and convenient nature of online counselling services can enable youth to comfortably and privately access services in their own time with no travel costs or need for drivers. Youth no longer feel alone in their emotional experience.
